Psychology has the largest gap on YouTube between a title’s promise and a video’s contents, and we can put a number on that rather than assert it: this is one of the categories where our title-honesty measurement moves the most.
The pattern is familiar. “The psychology of why you procrastinate” is frequently a video about one study, described loosely, surrounded by advice that does not follow from it. The video is not lying. It simply promised a mechanism and delivered a mood.
The ranking on this shelf is by measured value density — how much of the runtime carries information rather than restatement — and entries where the title substantially oversells the contents are pushed down rather than featured. That is a judgement about the packaging, not about the presenter, and it is ours: we are not reporting what anyone else thinks of these videos.
One limit worth stating plainly. We measure how densely a video delivers what it says it will. We do not verify the science inside it, and a well-structured video about a study that did not replicate will still score well here. For that, read the study.
