Ranked from 36 measured videos last recalculated 2 Sep 2026

There is a version of this video that has been made several hundred times, and it goes: active management underperforms, fees compound, here is a chart of the S&P over thirty years, buy the whole market. All of that is defensible and none of it takes twenty-two minutes.

What separates the entries at the top of this shelf from the ones below is whether the video goes past that argument into the part where the decisions actually live: what “the whole market” means when there are four indices that claim to be it, what a total-market fund holds that an S&P fund does not, how the accounting differs between accumulating and distributing, and what changes when the money is in a taxable account.

The ranking is by measured value density, so a video that spends eighteen minutes re-proving that fees matter sits below one that assumes you accept it and spends the time on the choice you are actually facing. Every entry names the minute the setup ends.

Two limits. We measure how densely a video delivers its argument, not whether the argument is correct, and none of this is financial advice. Fund structures and their tax treatment also differ by country, and almost every video on this shelf is written for one.

How this ranking is decided

Every video here was measured on the same axes: how much of its runtime carries information, how much is padding, and the second at which it starts paying off. The order is by value density, not by views, recency or how much we liked the channel. What the numbers mean →
