Ranked from 235 measured videos last recalculated 2 Sep 2026

Personal finance is the category with the most reliable structure on YouTube, and the structure is the problem: a hook about a mistake you are probably making, four minutes of why this matters, a sponsor read, three minutes of the presenter’s own story, and then — usually past the halfway mark — about ninety seconds of the thing the title promised.

That shape is not incompetence. It is what the format rewards. But it means the title of a finance video tells you almost nothing about how long you will be there before the advice arrives, and the median video on this shelf keeps you waiting longer than in any other explanatory category we measure.

So the ranking here is by measured value density, and every entry names the minute the substance starts. We do not rank by whether we agree with the advice — that is not a thing a measurement can decide, and a video can be dense and still be wrong. What is on this page is a claim about how much of the runtime carries content, not an endorsement of the strategy inside it.

Nothing here is financial advice, and nothing here is sponsored.

Gistil's own measurement. Not a YouTube rating, and not the channel's position. Ranking is ours; the videos belong to their channels.

How this ranking is decided

Every video here was measured on the same axes: how much of its runtime carries information, how much is padding, and the second at which it starts paying off. The order is by value density, not by views, recency or how much we liked the channel. What the numbers mean →
